Shirt for Class
Shirt for Class! Back attem, here was the last project for the Construction 1A class, a shirt. Since it was for this class there was some stuff that made this garment unusual, but it's still cool practice. Primary challenges: The collar. Making a nice neat collar that was nice and pointy on the tips was a good piece of work. It seems to have turned out ok though! The sleeve caps. The part where the sleeve attaches to the body was a lot of work. It took me over an hour for each one. The reason it was so hard was that the sleeve piece is made larger than the sleeve hole, and to account for that you need to sew in the ease (extra length) nice and neat. You can see the top of the sleeve right at the seam has a little bit of a wrinkle. That's how it's supposed to look. If I didn't do it right, all that extra fabric would bunch up in one place as a pleat instead. The way I accomplished this was stitching like 3 or 4 basting stitches (long stit...
